Financial Insights & Updates - September 2021
Welcome to the September edition of Financial Insights and Updates.
This month we have the final part of the video series on the future of retirement presented by the ABC’s Alan Kohler.
The video this month looks at the cost of aged care and the best way to fund it into the future. At the end of the video it reiterates the importance of superannuation and also of seeking financial advice.
Our 2 articles this month “Advised clients outperform” and “Value of advice highlighted for Super accounts” further support the rationale of having a qualified professional look after your financial affairs.
“Managing the largest movement of wealth in our history” is an article which discusses the estimated $3.5 trillion dollars expected to change hands through inheritance over the next 20 years. For the older generation, it urges them to get their estate planning in place and for the younger generation, it strongly encourages them to speak to a financial adviser about how best to manage and invest the funds to be received, including potential implications on Centrelink entitlements. Definitely an article worth reading and even forwarding on to your loved ones.
In signing off, please remember that we are always available to answer any questions or queries you may have.
Warm regards,

Financial Insights & Updates - August 2021
Welcome to the August edition of Financial Insights and Updates.
This month we have part three of the video series on the future of retirement presented by the ABC’s Alan Kohler.
The video this month looks at Australians who have not been able to retire yet, either by choice or not. It also talks about getting retirees to use their retirement income more efficiently to live a better life, rather than just drawing the minimum pension amount. It explores the debate on whether retirees should use up all their pensions or leave some as inheritance. The current issue of low interest rates and its impact on the returns in pension accounts is also discussed. The video goes on to talk about Reverse mortgages and the Pensions Loan Scheme and finishes with urging people to seek advice from a financial planning professional.
Two of our articles this month, “Not ready to retire – This might be another option” and “How much can we spend in retirement”, are good supplementary reads following the video.
Another interesting article is “Super Success for Women”, which discusses the disparity between super balances of men vs women and provides some simple steps the latter can take to boost their retirement savings.
In signing off, please remember that we are always available to answer any questions or queries you may have.
Warm regards,
